Beachborough Prep's PP1 Teacher Tess Vincent

This week’s From Classroom to Community spotlight shines on Tessa Vincent, one of our warm and supportive Pre-Prep 1 teachers from the Boardman.

Since joining Beachborough Prep last September, Tessa has brought care and unwavering support to our younger pupils. Her calm and nurturing presence adds to the Boardman’s welcoming environment where children feel confident, valued and ready to learn.

Hi Tessa, can you tell us a little about yourself – what you’re passionate about, your background and what makes you, you.

I have been a teacher for over 20 years and love making a difference in a child’s life. I find teaching incredibly rewarding and enjoy building relationships with each child in my class.

I began my teaching career in Kent before moving to Richmond, London, where I spent 11 years at a boys’ prep school. When my husband and I decided it was time to start our family, we relocated to Northamptonshire. I loved being a full-time mum to our two boys, although I always knew I wanted to return to teaching.

As a family, we enjoy spending as much time outdoors as possible – walking, cycling and sailing together. Our absolute favourite hobby is skiing; we love being in the mountains and, of course, enjoying plenty of delicious food along the way.

What do you love the most about being part of the Beachborough team?

Beachborough is a very unique school with the most amazing community spirit, and everyone who works here genuinely cares about the children. The team have all been so welcoming and friendly to me.

The pastoral care is incredible and really goes above and beyond anything I’ve experienced in other schools I have worked in.

What inspired you to do what you do and what keeps you passionate about it today?

As a teacher, I love making a difference and watching the progress every child makes from September to July. Each class and year group are different and it’s a new challenge every September.
