Beachborough Prep teacher Nicola Harper

In this week’s spotlight we caught up with Nicola Harper, one of our Boardman teachers, to find out a little more about her life outside the classroom and what she enjoys most about teaching at Beachborough Prep.

Hi Nicola, can you tell us a little about yourself – what you’re passionate about, your background and what makes you, you.

My hobbies are walking, dogs and horses, gardening and cooking – all things I really enjoy, especially when I can do them with my family. I have two daughters who are 5 and 7, and my husband is a farmer, so life is busy and very outdoors focused.

What do you love the most about being part of the Beachborough team?

I love being part of the unique and engaging opportunities Beachborough provides. The children are always so eager to learn and willing to challenge themselves, which makes it a really rewarding place to work. I also really enjoy the chance to teach in different ways, whether that’s outside the classroom or through more hands-on, engaging activities.

What inspired you to do what you do and what keeps you passionate about it today?

I’ve always been passionate about learning and curious about the world. I enjoy helping children explore different topics and discover new things for themselves. What I find most rewarding is seeing children’s progress, when something that once felt tricky becomes something they can do with confidence.

It’s clear that Nicola’s love of learning and curiosity about the world carry through into her teaching, helping to create a positive and encouraging environment for the children she works with. Thanks for sharing your story, Nicola – we’re so pleased you are part of the team!
