It’s that time of week again when we introduce another member of our teaching team to the Beachborough Prep community, celebrating who they are and the invaluable experience they bring to our school.
This week, we are delighted to introduce Jemima Cox, Beachborough’s Head of Art, Head of Classics and Form V tutor. Having joined the school back in 2017, Jemima shares her story with us, including what inspired her to enter the world of teaching.

Hi Jemima, tell us a little about yourself – what you’re passionate about, your background and what makes you, you.
I have been a teacher for around 13 years, but before entering education I worked at the British Museum. It was during my time there that my love of art and education truly came together, inspiring me to pursue a career in teaching.
In 2017, after having been Head of Art and a Latin teacher in London, I moved to this area and joined Beachborough as a general teacher. In those early days, I taught a bit of everything!
I am passionate about helping children discover how art has evolved throughout history and encouraging them to explore new creative skills with confidence. My love of the ancient world also continues to inspire me, and I particularly enjoy drawing connections between modern life and life in Roman Britain.
Outside the classroom, I’m a keen cook and gardener, and a busy mum to my children.
What do you love the most about being part of the Beachborough team?
The sense of community at Beachborough shines through in everything we do, and it’s one of the things I value most about being here. I love the way the whole school comes together whether we’re raising awareness, supporting one another, or fundraising for a cause.
What inspired you to do what you do and what keeps you passionate about it today?
I was inspired during my time at the British Museum to become an art educator. We are surrounded by so much creativity, and I believe that this should be accessible to all.
