Beachborough’s place in the local community is fundamental to who we were. As a village school, we are part of a thriving community and are keen to contribute in any way that we can.
The school has close connections to the village church, which is next door to our grounds, and we attend services there each week. Westbury Cricket Club uses our pitches to train on when they need to and we also work in partnership with the Parish Council, Village Hall and Shop Committee in delivering their programme of free events for local children, for example, willow weaving workshops, climbing wall events. We also host an annual Alpha Course for the Buckingham Benefice.
It is beneficial to have strong links with other local schools and childcare providers; Finmere Primary School will be joining us to celebrate World Book Day this year and we host Early Years meetings for practitioners in the area to share ideas and invite them to use our facilities. Our Music and Learning Support Departments are organising an annual event with a local special needs school – ‘Sign2Sing’ will be a celebration of deaf children who have learned sign language and transformed their lives. Our latest project is to share our new Wetlands area with other local children and 10 primary schools have been invited to take part in our science activities.
New this year, one of our parents has organised a partnership with the charity Greenpower and Silverstone to host Beachborough’s inaugural electric car grand prix for a range of local schools.
Our annual Beachborough Eventer Challenge, an NSEA qualifier equestrian event, is always popular with over 200 children from primary, secondary and independent schools taking part. The Beachborough Triathlon Club is attended by children from local schools, and around 500 children from a variety of clubs and schools, compete in our annual Beachborough Triathlon@Stowe and Beachborough Duathlon events.
We value our connections to the community around us and we are delighted to continue to share our resources and form new partnerships whenever possible.
