CREATE Skills Programme

At Beachborough Prep, we strive to inspire every child to become a motivated learner, someone who embraces challenges, learns from setbacks, and understands they have the power to grow and develop.

Introducing CREATE, our recognition programme designed to help students build positive character traits in:

Communication

Reflection

Empathy

Adaptability

Tenacity

Engagement

The table below explains why each characteristic is so important:

Communication The ability to communicate clearly and effectively is essential for success in any field. Strong communication skills enable children to express their ideas confidently, collaborate well with others and build meaningful relationships.
Reflection Learning to reflect allows children to assess their own progress, understand their strengths, and identify areas for improvement. By developing a habit of self-evaluation, they build resilience and take ownership of their learning.
Empathy Understanding and respecting different perspectives is a key skill in today’s interconnected world. Empathy helps children build strong relationships, work effectively in diverse teams, and develop emotional intelligence, qualities that are highly valued and contribute to positive social interactions.
Adaptability By developing adaptability, children learn to approach challenges with confidence, think creatively in uncertain situations, and stay resilient in the face of setbacks.
Tenacity Encouraging children to be tenacious helps them develop problem-solving skills, creativity, and a strong work ethic, qualities which enable them to thrive in demanding and competitive environments.
Engagement By fostering engagement, children develop teamwork and leadership skills, learn how to collaborate effectively, and contribute positively to their communities.

Beachborough Prep pupils are encouraged to develop these qualities in all areas of their school life, with their efforts recognised and rewarded by their tutors and teachers – there is even CREATE branding for every year group to bring this recognition programme to life!

Each child is supported in identifying which of these traits they find most challenging, so they can focus on developing the skills that will prepare them for life beyond Beachborough Prep – helping them achieve their goals and ambitions, whatever they may be.
