In the latest from classroom to community spotlight, we are delighted to shine a light on David Chronicle, who has been part of the Beachborough Prep team since September 2025.
As Assistant Head of Boarding and Co‑Curricular Sports Lead, David plays an important role in the school supporting pupils pastorally while championing a love of sport across the school community.
Hi David, can you tell us a little about yourself – what you’re passionate about, your background and what makes you, you.

I went to university in Bath, studying Sport and Exercise Science. After finishing university, I was a graduate teaching assistant at a boarding school in Bath. I taught PE and also helped out in the boarding houses.
I hope that my enthusiasm for sport shows through in my work.
What do you love the most about being part of the Beachborough team?
It was the atmosphere in and around Beachborough that drew me in. It is very friendly and the staff body genuinely feels like one big family. I grew up in Brackley, so I know the area very well and already knew several members of staff before joining, which certainly helped.
I enjoy getting to know the pupils and making a difference with them, especially those who board.
What inspired you to do what you do and what keeps you passionate about it today?
My grandparents were teachers and my entire family are big on their sports, so combining the two felt like a natural fit. Sport is so freeing, and it allows you to go places and do things you might never have thought you could. That’s what keeps me passionate about it every day!
