It is with great pleasure that the Board of Governors announce the appointment of Simone Mitchell as the 9th Head of Beachborough School from September 2023
Beachborough will be Simone’s second Headship, as she will join us from Swanbourne House School, one of the two Preparatory Schools within the Stowe Group, where she has been instrumental in growth and development under the new banner.
Simone qualified as an English teacher in 1996 from Exeter University and has a Masters Degree in Educational Leadership from the University of Buckingham. She has been an External Tutor for the University and, has lectured on their PGCE courses. Simone is experienced and enthusiastic about all aspects of teaching and learning but most importantly, she impressed the Governors with her understanding of the Beachborough ethos and the education of the whole child. She is passionate about the critical journey children take to prepare themselves for life and in ensuring they are world-ready, global citizens.
In her, we believe we have found an inspiring leader who brings enthusiasm, energy, vision, and a commitment to the holistic approach to teaching and learning. We believe she will uphold and enhance Beachborough’s inclusive ethos and reputation for excellence in the preparatory sector, ensuring that all our pupils and staff achieve their highest potential. We also believe that she will build on the strong platform the school has developed over the last five years and take the school into a new and exciting phase of it’s growth.
On her appointment Simone said, “I am delighted and honoured to have been appointed as the next Head of Beachborough. It is a remarkable school with a very exciting future. The warmth of the community drew me in from the start of the recruitment process and the school’s commitment to happiness and success is one that I very much share; it is a privilege to be invited to lead the school in the next phase of it’s development. I look forward to getting to know the school’s staff, parents, friends and alumni – and above all it’s pupils.”
Simone will be accompanied by her husband Graeme and their two son’s, Adam aged 18 and Jonathan aged 17.
