Nursery is where many children take their very first steps into education and at Beachborough Prep, we ensure that those steps are filled with warmth, care, and a deep sense of belonging.
Our nurturing environment is designed to help each child feel safe, valued, and understood from the moment they join us. We believe that the Early Years are about building strong, emotional foundations and our focus in Nursery is on helping the children settle happily into life at Beachborough, developing trusting relationships, learning routines and building confidence and independence in a patient, and gentle way. Each child is celebrated as an individual and we foster a culture of kindness, acceptance and purposeful play.
Learning at this age is rooted in explorative play and discovery and children are introduced to a wide variety of sensory, creative and imaginative experiences that support their development across all areas of learning, gently building on skills which will help them as they grow, such as listening, sharing, speaking, and moving, with confidence.
Our Nursery and Kindergarten children share an inviting, well-equipped indoor space as well an an outdoor garden that encourages connection with nature and with one another. Sometimes everyone is all together playing, at other times we split into Nursery and Kindergarten groups, so we can enjoy different activities. Children can join us from 2½ onwards, moving through to Kindergarten the year they turn 4. The children are free to explore, create and play each day outside and within our dedicated Forest School, where they can learn to love and care for the natural world around them.
