How do I apply to Beachborough Prep School?

At Beachborough, the admissions journey begins with a visit. We warmly invite families to tour the school and meet our Head, Mrs Mitchell, to get a real feel for life at Beachborough.

Should you wish to proceed, a registration form and non-refundable fee are required. Your child will then be invited to a Taster Day, offering the opportunity to meet their year group and teachers.

Following a successful visit, we will be in touch to offer a place, which is secured by completing an Acceptance Form and submitting a £1,000* deposit per child.

*The deposit is refundable after your child has left the school.

Admissions FAQs

When should I register my child for Beachborough Prep?

We encourage families to register as early as possible, particularly for the most popular entry points (Nursery, Reception, and Form III). Registration does not commit you to a place, but it secures your child’s position in the assessment process.

Is there an assessment or entry test?

Children applying to join from Pre-Prep 1 through to Form VIII are invited to attend a taster day, where they can experience daily school life and take part in age-appropriate assessments.

Children joining Nursery, Kindergarten and Reception are also warmly invited to attend a taster day to explore the school environment. At this stage, there is no formal assessment or entry testing – the focus is on helping children feel comfortable, confident, and excited about starting school.

What happens on a Taster Day?

A Taster Day gives your child the chance to spend a typical day in school – meeting their potential year group, joining lessons, and experiencing lunch and break times. It also gives staff the opportunity to get to know your child as an individual.

How are school fees structured at Beachborough Prep?

Fees are charged termly and vary by year group and boarding option. Up-to-date fees, additional/optional charges, and information on sibling discounts can be found on our School Fees page.

Can my child join part-way through a year group?

Yes, where places are available. Mid-year entry is reviewed on a case-by-case basis to ensure your child can settle confidently and join the academic and pastoral life of the school without disruption.
