Meet the Gap Students – Part 3

Posted: 19th December 2025

Beachborough Prep Gap Student Ciara

As part of our Meet the Gap Student series, we’re excited to introduce Ciara! A former Beachborough Prep pupil, Ciara returned to the school in September 2025 to begin her Gap Student adventure. Read on to discover her journey so far and what she hopes to achieve during her Gap year.

Keen sports enthusiast Ciara joined us as a Gap Student after completing her A levels at Bloxham School. Wanting to develop her coaching skills, she knew Beachborough would provide the perfect opportunity.

Having attended Beachborough herself, Ciara has fond memories of the Gap Students who were around when she was at the school,“I always really enjoyed getting to know the Gap Students. I thought it would be a great opportunity to challenge myself before going to university.”

And what a great time Ciara has had so far, “I’ve absolutely loved my time at Beachborough so far, especially supporting girls’ hockey—it’s been brilliant to see them win. Before half term, I went with the U11 A girls’ team to the IAPS hockey tournament where they won! I’ve also loved helping with the PE programme, even trying new sports like ultimate frisbee.”

Ciara plans to go to university to study Sports Science once her time as a Gap Student comes to an end. She hopes to use this year to build her confidence and develop leadership skills. Already, Ciara says she’s improved her communication skills by working with people of different ages, “I also think I’ve become more responsible over the past few months, especially with time management—making sure I manage my daily timetable effectively.”

Ciara, you’ve already made a fantastic contribution to Beachborough, and we can’t wait to see what else you achieve during your time here. Thank you for your continued hard work.
