In our series ‘Meet the Gap Students’, we’ll be introducing you to our current cohort, Neve, Oscar, Lewis and Ciara, sharing more about them and their experience here at Beachborough Prep.
So, let’s get stuck in and kick things off with Neve…
After completing her A-Levels, Neve joined Beachborough Prep as a Gap Year student, bringing her passion for sport and energy to our school. During her studies, she worked as a part-time Swimming Instructor and coached Year Seven and Eight netball teams.
Looking to gain more experience in sports leadership and make an informed decision about her university course, Neve applied to be a Gap student at Beachborough Prep.
“I enjoy working with young people and I was inspired by the wide range of learning opportunities Beachborough Prep offers its students. This role will show me what learning looks like across the prep years, both in and out of the classroom, which will help me determine what career path I might want to pursue once I graduate.”
Since joining us, Neve has embraced every challenge, working across departments and building fantastic relationships with pupils and parents.
“I’ve received a lot of positive feedback from the school community, which has made me feel really valued as a member of staff.”
Already, Neve has developed a variety of teaching strategies for both sports and classroom settings. She has also learned to be adaptable and embrace a new mindset.
“I have learnt that you can be organised and flexible at the same time. I have to think ahead and plan but know that every day will be different so you never fully know what will happen. My new attitude is to go with the flow; you never know what learning this will bring.”
We’re so proud of Neve’s growth and grateful for her hard work. Thank you, Neve, for everything you’ve contributed to Beachborough Prep so far!
