Form VI (Age 10-11)

This is the time that the serious work of preparation for transfer to senior school begins and this is reflected in the curriculum. The subject specialist approach continues from Form V and the programmes of study now start to reflect the requirements for Common Entrance. Pupils in Form VI are taught by subject specialists and they move around the school to different subject areas as the timetable demands.  They continue to be streamed in smaller sets, allowing the pace and content of each lesson to best match their ability.

Three nights each week are devoted to prep. Prep is given in English, Maths, Science, French, Geography, History and two subjects are set on each of these nights with approx 25mins of work to be completed in each case. The majority of pupils opt to do this in school under teacher supervision so at the end of the day all work is completed.
