The curriculum follows the EYFS seven areas of learning, through a variety of structured and play activities to lay a strong foundation for your child’s education throughout their school life:
- Communication and Language
- Physical Development
- Personal, social and emotional development
- Understanding the World
- Expressive arts and design
As well as the expansive weekly programme, Beachborough offers many opportunities for enrichment outside the school; from visiting artists, to drama workshops, to visiting wild animals, to trips to places like The Living Rainforest which are relevant to their curriculum. The opportunities are bountiful and as they encapsulate the breadth of education to which we aspire they are included in the fees.
Assessment occurs throughout the year via observation. All of our observations and assessments will be recorded in the EYFS Record and using ‘Tapestry’ can be viewed by parents and staff electronically.
Full reports for parents are written twice a year, at the end of the Autumn and Summer Terms. Parents are invited termly to a parents evening with their teacher. Parents are always welcome to discuss their child’s progress at any time through the term.
Children who appear to have a specific difficulty will be monitored by the teacher and will be reviewed half termly with parents. It is vital that parents are involved to ensure maximum support is given and optimum progress is made.
