  4. Your Passions outside school: I have little spare time so spending it with my boys takes priority, watching them play rugby etc. Otherwise I enjoy DIY and visiting new places

  3. Your life before Beachborough: I have been at Beachborough since September 2007. I trained at Birmingham university and have previously worked at Milton Keynes Preparatory School and Akeley Wood School.
  4. Your Passions outside school: My interests outside school include going to the theatre, dancing and zumba.

  3. Your life before Beachborough: Qualified from Edge Hill University BSc (Hons) Sports Science and Geography in 2002, spent ten years teaching at Buckingham School and Magdalen College School before moving to Beachborough in 2012
  4. Your Passions outside school: Life outside of school at the moment is solely based around my wife and family, looking after our new baby son Jack as well my Chocolate Lab Cinder.

  4. Your Passions outside school: Music (I play flute in a local concert band), needlecraft (I sew and knit children’s clothing) and I have recently taken up dinghy sailing (I enjoyed it so much on the Leaver’s trip that I took up a challenge from pupils to learn properly over the summer break).

  3. Your life before Beachborough: I had my two boys Matthew and Alexander and took 10 years off from teaching to look after them full-time.
  4. Your Passions outside school: Life outside school consists mainly of driving the boys around; watching them play cricket and football and making the cricket teas.

Your life before Beachborough: I started life as a School Secretary in an independent school of 380 children.  I then decided that I was missing out on seeing the children at work and play and so became a Learning Support Assistant.  Having done that for 6 years I decided that I wanted to be a teacher and so trained at University of Northampton. I worked in the state system for 3 years before coming to Beachborough, initially for a term covering a teacher. I have now been here just over 6 years!
  4. Your Passions outside school: I love walking and swimming.  Am always cooking for family and friends and have recently acquired a narrow boat which I intend to spend as much free time on as I can.

 

Mrs Sally Gross

English, Maths and Science teacher, Form III Year Group Co-ordinator BA (Hons)

  2.  Your other hats at Beachborough:  I teach Girls Games and I am member of The Charity Committee.
  3.  Your life before Beachborough: I had a gap year which included inter-railing around Europe, teaching in a school in Kenya and being one of the matrons at a boarding prep school in Surrey. I have taught in a large primary state school in North London and I have taught in an International school in Milan.
  4. Your Passions outside school: I have two daughters. We are an active family who like to go on walks, swim to keep fit, go camping, travel, go to the theatre, play on the beach and our favourite activity is dolphin spotting in Scotland.

Mrs Amy Jackson

  2. Your other hats at Beachborough: I enjoy being an active part of Carder club and helping to build the profile of netball in the school
  3. Your life before Beachborough: I was involved in Rugby Development in the South West, which ultimately directed me toward teaching PE and Games.
  4. Your Passions outside school: I spend a lot of time involved with various sports. I love visiting new places, reading, drawing and painting.

  3. Your life before Beachborough: I worked for a year at St. Mary Magdalen School, Milton Keynes, then moved onto Winslow C of E School where I worked until 2012 as a class teacher. I taught across all of the year groups in this time and was the science co-ordinator for 5 years and then developed the use of the outdoor learning within the school.
  4. Your Passions outside school: My family and spending quality time with them. I enjoy going to the theatre, listening to music and baking. I also enjoy crafts and like to make my own greetings cards.

  3. Your life before Beachborough: In a previous life I trained to be an Accountant before seeing the light and becoming a KS1 & 2 teacher. I have taught in Prep schools in Lancashire, Cambridge & Dorset.
  4. Your Passions outside school: Most of my time outside work is spent running round after 2 daughters and 65ish boys at Stowe! During the holidays we greatly enjoy family time together in West Wales.

  3. Your life before Beachborough: Graduated from Edge Hill University, Liverpool,  in July 2014, where I studied Primary and Secondary Teaching and Modern Foreign Languages. Studied French, Spanish and Music at A Level, at Repton School, Derbyshire.
  4. Your Passions outside school: I am out-going, I play hockey and I enjoy spending time with my family in Chester, Cheshire.

4. Your passions outside of school:  I enjoy drawing, cycling, fishing, travelling and I am a huge Formula 1 fan but I support Fernando Alonso, not Lewis!

  3. I have been teaching at Beachborough since September 1996 and have been a class teacher in Pre-Prep 1, Pre-Prep 2, Form I and Form II.
  4. Your life before Beachborough: My degree is in Art and Design and Media Studies as I wanted to work in T.V. production.  I spent time at the BBC working in Post Production and have also worked as a P.A. for Lloyds Bank Architects, before deciding on my current career in teaching.
  5. Your Passions outside school: I love skiing, travelling, throwing pots (on the wheel!), as well as being a mum…… and shopping (doesn’t every woman?).

  3. Your life before Beachborough: I have been a Reception teacher at Akeley Wood School for the past 6 years and prior to that had been a Nursery teacher for 10 years. In between I returned to South Africa to have my daughter and briefly ran my own B&B.
