U13 Northamptonshire County Netball Academy

Congratulations should be extended to Eleanor B in Form VIII and Florence T in Form VII for gaining a place in the U13 Northamptonshire County Netball academy after a very extensive trialling process. The Beachborough girls beat off a lot of competition from representatives from other schools and clubs to earn selection to be part of the county set up. They are currently training with other members of the county squad on a Thursday evening and have to dedicate over 6 hours of their time a week towards not only training but to homework and research too. The girls will even have instruction from a rugby coach to teach them how to hold position as netball will no longer be classified as a non contact sport!

Thus far the girls have made a very favourable impression with their county coaches, particularly when it has come down to fitness based sessions. In each fitness based activity that they have taken part in, Eleanor and Florence have either finished in first or second place with both of them achieving excellent for adult standard.

The girls should be immensely proud of themselves and alongside their hockey commitments, they are putting a lot of work into their sport at the moment and clearly reaping the rewards!
