Pre-Prep 2 leap forward into Victorian times!

Having learnt the story of The Great Fire of London the children in Pre-Prep 2 have leapt forward 170 years to explore the Victorian Era. On Wednesday the children excitedly boarded the coach to travel to Milton Keynes Museum. When they arrived they were fascinated by the big boat and steam engine in the car park. The Victorian dressed Museum Guides gave the children a fascinating insight into the lives of Victorian children and the home of a wealthy farmer. The children were quite shocked to hear that a Victorian child had to fetch the coal in, help carry the water from the well and empty the bed pan, and all before they went to school! They listened to music in the parlour and faced the wrath of the teacher in the school room. They explored a Victorian street and marvelled at all the unusual objects to be found there. Mrs Gilder played ‘Onward Christian Soldiers’ to an enthusiastic PP2 congregation in the chapel.
