Our extensive Co-Curricular Programme at Beachborough is all about passion and we believe children develop a healthy balance in their life when real importance is attached to their time outside the classroom. When formal classes are over, Pre-Prep children enjoy a vast array of activities; from Modern Dance and Karate to Mechanical Lego and Mad Science, the list is long and varied.
Details of all the activities available in each term’s Co-Curricular Programme are sent to parents at the end of term before.
Forest School focuses on providing a safe, outdoor environment where children are freely allowed to explore, discover and learn in our secure area of woodland and outdoor classroom. Our Forest School lessons encourage and inspire a variety of outdoor experiences.
Dressed appropriately in waterproof salopettes (they venture out come rain or shine), the children are introduced to skills, knowledge and ideas using resources and activities such as learning about the woodland, understanding the seasons, art and music, counting and measuring wildlife.
Forest leaders have a wide knowledge and understanding of co-curricular activities such as team building, woodland crafts, conservation, bush craft skills and sensory activities.
As well as the expansive weekly programme, Beachborough offers many opportunities for enrichment outside the school; from visiting artists, to drama workshops, to visiting wild animals, to trips to places like Natural History Museum which are relevant to their curriculum. The opportunities are bountiful and as they encapsulate the breadth of education to which we aspire they are included in the fees.
