Beachborough Art Works

Art is a popular subject within Beachborough. It encourages individuals to explore and develop their creative potential in many different forms of media. Our department has a simple aim: Success for Everyone. Projects are designed so that pupils of all abilities can succeed. The most talented reach high levels of achievement and go on to gain Art awards to senior schools.

Every pupil at Beachborough has a weekly one-hour lesson.

Our open-door policy allows pupils to continue their work in their free time. A clay group runs during a lunch break open to all pupils. Workshops are arranged with national artists to provide as broad an experience as possible. Visits to galleries are organised to help inspire and encourage pupils.

An evening activity session runs weekly for potential scholarship candidates -and for those who just love art.

Displays are a major feature of the department and are used to engender a sense of pride and achievement. It is a yearly goal to have, at least, one piece of work from each pupil on display around the school this amounts to about 200 pieces of work at any one time! Each year, we enter a wide selection of work to both the Stowe and Warwick Prep School Art Exhibitions. All this helps to ensure that the experience of Art at Beachborough is an enjoyable one.
