  3. Your Passions outside school: Road Cycling and running when I can, however, three young children keep me busy

  3. Your life before Beachborough: Trained as a specialist Physical Education teacher with a BEd in PE, taught for two years in a state school before becoming Head of PE at St. John’s College School, Cambridge. Also Year Co-ordinator for Form VI.
  4. Your Passions outside school: Love reading and gardening and hope to build on my sailing enthusiasm over the next few years as I head towards retirement.

  3. Your life before Beachborough: Graduated from Warwick University, have taught at City of London Freemen’s School and Dulwich Prep, where I was a Houseparent.
  4. Your Passions outside school: Music  and Drama – I love singing and pretending to be someone else!

  3. Your life before Beachborough: have worked in various Independent and State Educational Institutions across Key Stage 1, 2 and 3. Before working at Beachborough I taught at The Sir James Henderson School in Milan working mainly with 5 to 8 year olds. Prior to Milan I worked at primary schools in North London and Brighton.
  4. Your Passions outside school: I have a young family who still enjoy my company so outside of school we spend as much time together as possible. I am a keen footballer and play regularly. I enjoy reading crime fiction, hiking, golf and cryptic crosswords.

Mrs Julie Smith

1. Your main role at Beachborough: Head of Pastoral Care, Designated Safeguarding Lead for Child Protection.

2. Your other hats at Beachborough: Form VI Year Coordinator, Form IV Tutor, Coordinator of PSHE and Teacher of PSHE to Forms V to VIII, Teacher of Games and Physical Education lessons.

3. Your life before Beachborough: I have always wanted to work with children and to teach. I have worked in a variety of schools with children from the ages of 2 to 18 years. Immediately prior to Beachborough I worked as a Year 7. Tutor and Director of Physical Education at Royal Latin Grammar School.

4. Your Passions outside school: I am an avid reader and enjoy a wide genre of reading material, whenever I get the opportunity. I enjoy going to the theatre and walking (completed the Coast to Coast – backpacking) and have spent many holidays in the Lake District or beachcombing, around the country. Although I like gardening, I am not as ‘hands on’ as I used to be!

  3. Your life before Beachborough: Taught at Lanesborough (RGS GUILDFORD) and West Downs (WINCHESTER) University of Leicester, Felsted School and Catterall Hall (Giggleswick) Brought up in India, Yorkshire and Essex.
  4. Your Passions outside school: Narrowboats, Leicester Tigers and cycling

  3. Your life before Beachborough:  Graduated from Warwick University, spent two years teaching in Hertfordshire. Moved schools to become a Year 3 and 4 Co-ordinator at a school in Buckinghamshire. Following a year off for maternity, spent several years working part time at a variety of schools teaching a range of years groups from Year 2-6.
  4. Your Passions outside school:  Spending time with my family, theatre, travel.
