The Chairman of the Board and Governors would like to announce that Jeremy Banks was offered, and has accepted, the post of Head at Caldicott School, Farnham Royal, Buckinghamshire – he will be leaving Beachborough at the end of the Spring 2018 term. Much as we are genuinely sad to be accepting Jeremy’s resignation, it is exciting news for Jeremy, Sophie and the girls: the new role provides fresh challenge at a pivotal point in his career.
The Governors will now turn their attention to careful and thorough succession planning and we have already taken steps to ensure that we have a robust and well organised process to find an outstanding candidate to lead and develop the school. This process will begin immediately, we have appointed Perrett Laver (well known recruiters in the Education sector) to assist the Board of Governors to manage the process for the School. Upon the completion of this process, our aim is to make an announcement as soon as possible.
As you would expect, Jeremy has assured the Governors – and he has our complete trust in this – that he will work with all his energy on Beachborough until he leaves at Easter 2018: it would be hard to imagine anything less from him. Over the coming weeks and months, we will ensure that all the necessary plans for the process of transition will be put in place.
Finally – with the School in such good health, a change like this is a fantastic opportunity for the Governors and the school to build on the strong platform created over the last few years, and we are resolved to make the most of it. We can all look forward with great optimism and enthusiasm. We will be very pleased to announce, as soon as we are able, with news of the appointment of the eighth Head of Beachborough.
