Last Sunday I went to The Venue in Milton Keynes to take part, for the first time, in the Milton Keynes Festival of the Arts. I entered three categories: “Intermediate Recorder”, “Advanced Flute” and “Woodwind Recital 17 years and Under”. On Monday I found out that I have been chosen as one of six performers to take part in the Milton Keynes Young Musician of the Year showcase to be held next Saturday 11 March.
Report by Samuel
Samuel won gold in all three classes, with distinctions in both flute classes. Samuel was also awarded the Johnny Dankworth Woodwind Trophy, which is the overall award for the whole of the Woodwind section of the competition. He thoroughly deserves his place in the Young Musician showcase.
Congratulations Samuel, and good luck in the final!
