Form IV Geography

What does Angel cake, tubes of icing and towels have to do with the formation of mountains? Form IV found that they have a lot to do with this subject!

Last Friday, to support our work on Mighty Mountains, Form IV took part in a very practical activity looking at how Fold mountains, Fault-Block mountains and Volcanic mountains are formed. The children had a great time squeezing icing out of a tube to form a Volcanic mountain, cutting and squishing angel cake to make a Fault-Block mountain and working as a pair to form a Fold mountain.

The activity was inspired by the very informative lesson with Mr Banks who shared his expert knowledge on Mountain formation.
