Beachborough School Adam Winters Golf

Adam Winter inspires Learning Zone children

Adam Winter attended Beachborough from 2005-2009. At the age of 11, Adam transferred to Bedford School as a sports scholar and now attends the Lee Westwood Golf School where he is studying a Level 3 BTEC in Sport. Adam is a successful golf player, with a handicap of 2, competing in county, regional, national and international tournaments. Next year, he is planning to go to university to study sports management, having received offers from a number of universities.

On Tuesday evening, Adam came back to Beachborough to talk to pupils in the Learning Zone. Adam reminisced about the wonderful times he had a Beachborough, including playing Lighthouse and Laser Tag in boarding; the children were keen to share with Adam that they still enjoy these games today! Adam also spoke candidly about the academic challenges he faced whilst at Beachborough and since.

Adam’s relaxed manner and honesty had the children hooked, and they listened intently as he offered advice and reassurances. Adam encouraged the children to always work hard, ask questions when they are unsure and to never give up on their dreams. Adam finished his talk with the words of Kevin Durrant (NBA basketball player):

“Hard work beats talent when talent fails to work hard.”
