On Tuesday the children in PP2 set off on their annual residential to Woodrow High House near Amersham. Day one started in the swimming pool with team games and a splash around. In the sports hall they played football and raced against each other in team games. It was very windy outdoors in the afternoon which meant a change in activities as the woods were out of bounds. This didn’t dampen their spirits, in fact they rose to the challenge of archery, Team X and Pioneering in true Beachborough style. The outdoor campfire turned into a fabulous Disco in the cellar and by the time they went upstairs to bed they were ready for a good sleep. Day two started just as breezy but with a good cooked breakfast inside them they were ready for the day ahead. The children completed their carousel of activities and then all came together for a final ‘Rocket Challenge’. In teams they designed and built a rocket which was launched in the garden amongst many squeals of delight and excited cheers. The staff of Woodrow High House were really impressed with the way the children approached each activity and commented on their lovely manners throughout their stay.
