Musician of the Year Beachborough

Banbury Young Musician of the Year

Many congratulations to Venetia who won the Intermediate (12 – 15yrs) Woodwind Class at the Banbury Young Musician of the Year competition on Saturday, playing her treble recorder. The Young Musician Competition is run by the Rotary Club of Banbury and has been successful for many years. It is a great platform to give young people valuable performance experience and, for some, it has been a launch-pad towards a career in music. There are classes for soloists, duets, trios or quartets on a wide range of instruments, for junior, intermediate and senior age range.Venetia performed in the preliminary rounds competing against eight other musicians in her class and was successful going through to the final on Saturday, where she won. Congratulations to Emma D and Samuel, who also took part in this competition. Well done to you all.
