Beachborough Farm Trip

Form VI Field’s Barn Farm Trip

On Tuesday the children in Form VI visited Field’s Barn Farm run by the Tredwell family as part of their common entrance economic activity topic. The children got to hear about the changes the farm has undertaken over the years and then they were put to work. The children helped to dose some of the sheep as well as watch one have her hooves trimmed. They were then given a lesson in how to herd sheep by Mr.Tredwells very impressive sheepdog. Following this demonstration the children were given the opportunity to be shepherds/shepherdesses, although they were not quite as orthodox as the sheepdog. Our thanks got to Mr.Tredwell for giving up his time to allow the children a hands on experience, and to see his beautiful calves. Report by Lorraine Campbell
