Beachborough Study Skills

Forms V & VI study skills coaching session

On Tuesday Forms V and VI received coaching sessions from Elevate Education entitled “ Study skills, a kick start to revision”. The sessions were presented by Emma, who received a first class honours degree in psychology from Cambridge University. Emma gave all the pupils invaluable advice on how to approach revision including techniques for dynamic reading, formatting notes and mindmaps. The feedback at the end was very positive and some pupils have already began note taking using the methods suggested. This is the start to an ongoing commitment in assisting pupils to becoming more independent in their studies and will continue later in the year (April 21st) with two further sessions on time management for Form V and using mnemonics to help recall in Form VI. Report by Dan Gross
