Beachborough Antarctica

Antarctica Lecture

The children in Forms II-VI were given the opportunity to listen to a lecture about Antarctica delivered by a very special man, Adam Wild, who is the Uncle of Matilda
Pumfrey (Form IV) and Jack Pumfrey (Form II). Adam, who is a conservation architect, delivered a fantastic presentation to the children about the restoration projects on Shackleton and Scott’s cabins that he has been involved in. He showed them slides of these cabins before and after the restoration and he spoke about what life would have been like for these brave explorers. His presentation also included information about the wildlife in Antarctica which included a very cute clip of a penguin toppling over!Report by Lorraince Campbell
