Music Concert

Music Concert

This year’s first concert took place on Wednesday and featured pupils of Mr. Lee and Mrs. Lear, who learn the clarinet, saxophone and/or piano. The concert opened with the Saxophone Quartet playing a calypso and ended with the Clarinet Quartet playing Deep Pan Boogie, demonstrating tight ensemble. Between these two numbers, we heard the following children all play solos:

Ted Epps, clarinet
Amelia Morton, piano
Hattie Goodrich, saxophone
Genevieve Carter, piano
Matilda Pumfrey, clarinet
James Fry, piano
Amelia Morton, saxophone
Charlotte Morgan, piano
Lily Alder, clarinet
Charlie Oakey, saxophone
Emily Cavender, piano
Harry Waring, saxophone
Niamh Dudgeon, clarinet
Venetia Moir, piano

The occasion was most enjoyable, and each pupil should be proud of their manner on stage and the performance they gave. I was particularly impressed at those pupils who have only been learning the instrument for a few weeks, yet still managed to perform to an audience with assurance. Well done.
