Tom’s team win Polocrosse

Last weekend Tom Alderman competed in a Polocrosse tournament representing
Rugby Polocrosse Club Primary Juniors (U12) at Only Grounds. For those who are not familiar with Polocrosse, it is a game similar to Polo, but played with nets and a soft ball like lacrosse. Consisting of 3 players (at junior level) it is fast and very physical.
The weekend was not for the faint hearted, as it included two nights sleeping rough in the
cattle trailer, participating in 4 matches, 12 chukkas with over 4 hours in the saddle.
The weather was kind and the results were rewarding, as his team were placed 1st in their
section, however, the tension was high as the final result was decided by a golden goal!
Tom was also privileged enough assist the USA team in the UK v USA international polocrosse test match, by helping the international players with their ponies
between chukkas . It was a fun weekend and congratulations to the Rugby
Juniors for their success. Report by Lucy Karklis
